A note on fast envelope estimation

4 We propose a new algorithm for envelope estimation, along with a new √ n5 consistent method for computing starting values. The new algorithm, which does not 6 require optimization over a Grassmannian, is shown by simulation to be much faster 7 and typically more accurate than the best existing algorithm proposed by Cook and 8 Zhang [7]. 9

Static Pressure Distribution in an Excited Jet: Some Observations (RESEARCH NOTE)

A plane subsonic jet was subjected to periodic oscillations in the near nozzle region by a twin vane system. During excitation, the jet was found to spread significantly and entrain mass much more than its steady counterpart. Time averaged static pressure measured in the flow field with a disc probe exhibited prominent well defined suction regions different from that of a steady jet.

Note on Population Densities in an Expanding Helium-Neon Plasma Flow

The axial population distributions in an expanding helium-neon mixture plasma flow have been calculated for three cases of the concentration of neon ions. T h e results show that the electron temperature distributions are strongly dependent on the concentration of the neon ions and that the populations of the upper levels of the helium atom depend on the electron temperature near downstream and...

Self‐expanding stent effects on radiation dosimetry in esophageal cancer

It is the purpose of this study to evaluate how self-expanding stents (SESs) affect esophageal cancer radiation planning target volumes (PTVs) and dose delivered to surrounding organs at risk (OARs). Ten patients were evaluated, for whom a SES was placed before radiation. A computed tomography (CT) scan obtained before stent placement was fused to the post-stent CT simulation scan. Three method...
